Two-storey extension

Scope of work

125-Year-Old Villa

This project involved a two-storey extension to a 125-year-old character home, carefully designed to honour the original bones of the building while creating a functional, future-focused living space.

The works included demolition of the existing sitting room to make way for both single and two-storey extensions, seamlessly integrated into the existing home. The new layout introduces a kitchenette, two bathrooms, two bedrooms, and a dedicated media room, significantly increasing both usability and flexibility for modern family living.

A strong focus was placed on improving thermal performance and energy efficiency. The home has been upgraded with Solux-E® low emissivity joinery and Thermaslab edge insulation, ensuring the extension meets modern insulation standards while enhancing overall comfort.

Externally, a new Colorsteel Maxam roof has been installed across the entire home, tying the old and new together with a cohesive finish. A new rainwater spouting system further enhances functionality and long-term durability.

The result is a considered extension that respects the character of the original home while delivering a warm, efficient, and family-friendly living environment.
